What is the biggest challenge your clients face?
Embarrassment associated with the stigma of being in therapy. Oftentimes clients will think that they are “crazy” and feel as though they are the only ones going through what they are experiencing. It can be lonely and scary so it is important to create a warm, welcoming environment in which all clients feel heard, understood, and valued not just in the beginning of treatment but throughout as well as after treatment had ended.
What makes you unique/different from your competition?
I’m not afraid to open up and share my own struggles with depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, eating issues, body image issues, etc. Personally, I believe that all of our problems, as human beings, stem back to this single struggle: loneliness associated with disconnection. It is particularly powerful when a mental health professional, who is typically put on a pedestal, to be seen as just another human…as real. This, paired with high quality therapy personally tailored to the client, is my best winning combination!
What are your top 3 frequently asked questions?
1) How long will I be in therapy? A: it will vary from person-to-person but 10 years of my own data shows that most people get what they need in 3 months
2) How much does therapy cost? When it comes to therapy, I can assure you you get what you pay for and it is worth your while to be paired with a high quality therapist who delivers top-notch services but also consistently works on themselves. Interview your therapist – pay attention to how they look, act, and the words they say – it is not difficult to decipher a therapist who is dedicated and motivated and who is not. My fees are reflective of the value that I hold for myself and the high quality work I deliver.
Initial Assessment: $200
Each subsequent session: $140 for individual, $165 for couple and/or family
3) Am I crazy/different/something wrong with me? The answer is ABSOLUTELY NOT! You are not crazy, you are human and no one is exempt from the trials and tribulations of life. Some are simply dealt a different hand but with the right tools, discipline, and state of readiness everyone has the capacity to improve.
