How a bookkeeper went from counting numbers to playing with gems:

“After receiving a degree in business and then starting as an Assistant Auditor at a local bank in Michigan, I determined the numbers game wasn’t for me. Many years and three states later ‘The Flower Lady’ was born, which started two decades designing and maintaining formal gardens for a diverse client base. During this time, I also wrote ‘The Rain Garden Handbook’.  I finally came to the decision that 50-something year-olds shouldn’t be carrying 100-pound trees around, so gardening as a career was over. The creative juices then needed to be channeled to a more sedate activity and so ‘Custom Made Jewelry by Rain Water Designs’ was born! I could literally spend hours talking about rocks and gems but promise to keep it to 10 minutes!”
