Every team or group is special. They have unique needs and challenges to become as effective and productive as possible while maintaining the health of the individuals. My skill is in identifying what the leaders – and followers – need in order to create energized effective teamwork that accomplishes organizational goals while respecting individual needs and desires. We focus a lot on what it takes to be a good or great leader, but we don’t pay much attention to what makes it possible to be a great contributor in other ways. Leadership is a two-way process that depends on the needs & skills of the leader and the needs & skills of the team members. Some key leadership skills are to knowing, reading understanding and responding to the team members’ needs and wants as they evolve and develop.
In 2023 I read 2 books that made a big impact on me –
The Art of Insubordination by Dr Todd Kashdan & Positive Provocations by Dr Robert Biswas-Diener.
I loved the concepts because they called to who I am. I look at things from a different angle, & I guide clients & audiences to do the same.
Some of my favorite coaching questions include:
- Who says?
- What if you did?
- What is the silliest idea?
But it is not just questions that frame our world

I smile when I see these comments because there is no greater compliment than to be told that you have made a difference in someone else’s life. And there is no greater gift than to make a difference in someone else’s life. So these comments reinforce my commitment to continuous learning & growth; my commitment to coaching & mentoring. I also blush a little (or a lot) because these compliments are hard to believe. But all these clients cannot be wrong.
I have worked with teams, groups & individuals around the world. I have been privileged to write 2 books (so far!), create 5 LinkedIn Learning Courses & to train more than 60 new coaches in 6 years. I have coached more than 500 hours & have lost count of the number of clients I have worked with as a coach, trainer & speaker. (Thousands!)
