I am Mary O’Brien, Ph.D., CEO of the O’Brien Group. I’ve been working for a long time, and like most leaders, I’ve experienced real successes and real failures. What changed everything for me wasn’t another strategy or title; it was the moment I slowed down, looked in the mirror, and began to understand how my thoughts, behaviors, and triggers were shaping how I lived and led. That work exponentially improved my awareness and my ability to help others succeed in their personal and professional life.

I hold dual doctorates in behavioral psychology and organizational psychology, which gives me a unique ability to work at the intersection of individual behavior and organizational systems. My training in behavioral psychology helps me understand how people think, adapt, grow, and respond to challenge, while my preparation in organizational psychology helps me understand how leadership, culture, structure, and systems shape performance. Together, those perspectives allow me to help individuals thrive while also helping organizations create the conditions for sustainable success.

I practice what I preach. I remain an active executive, supported by my own coach. My why is simple: in a world filled with disruption and uncertainty, we can rise and achieve great things when we truly know ourselves and lead with intention and authenticity.
