Carlon Ocel: Hemphill Gelder, P.C.
Hemphill Gelder, P.C.

I am a 2009 graduate of Duke University and a 2012 graduate of the University of Richmond School of Law, where I completed the Family Law Certificate with a focus on estate planning and was a Manuscripts Editor for the Journal of Law and the Public Interest. My career began in the public interest sector in Northern Virginia and continued at another boutique estate planning firm in Durham before I joined Hemphill Gelder. My experience includes not only estate planning in general but also the more specific areas of special needs planning, elder law, and public benefits. I pride myself on making what can often be perceived as a daunting and emotionally fraught process much more pleasant and efficient than anticipated. In addition to spending one-on-one time with my clients crafting the plan that will work best for them, I also enjoy developing educational opportunities for members of my community to help them better understand the estate planning process and how it can benefit them and their families.
I live in Apex with my husband and son, as well as our energetic golden retriever and cranky orange cat. In my spare time, I enjoy playing mahjong, needlepointing, reading, antiquing, following Duke Basketball, and being involved with the Rotary Club of Pittsboro and the Junior League of Durham and Orange Counties.
