Faye Peacock Wilson is originally from Johnston County, NC and earned her bachelor’s degree from The University of Mount Olive, NC. Faye joined the Raleigh Police Department in June of 1990 and retired as a Senior Officer in December of 2017. In 2020 Faye adopted Gidget and Tigress from the Granville County Humane Society. Faye’s book The Backyard is based on the fictional adventures of her two cats. Faye is currently working on her next book.

The Backyard is a fun story of a curious cat named Gidget, who decides to explore the world outside her home. She must learn to survive the dangers of the backyard and trust her instincts. Other characters in the book are Tigress a quiet sister cat and Mr. Thomas a savvy feral cat. The cats provide a positive lesson on being yourself and how others may try to influence you.
